as you know from G’s awesome post, we went to the Biltmore Estate on saturday to celebrate my birthday. what you (and maybe G) don’t know is that i love architecture. our little shuttle drivers informed us that the Biltmore house is inspired by French Chateau design. gorgeous, right?
G also planned for us to go on the “Biltmore Bubbles” tour where we got to learn how Biltmore sparkling wine is made and taste their six sparkling wines. it was so fancy and i felt very smart and cultured at the end of our little tour.
we didn’t go inside the home until 9 pm…by then it was nice and dark and the lights were very pretty. you aren’t allowed to take pictures anywhere inside the house but it was very beautiful. my favorite room was the Claude room, named after a French painter named Claude Lorrain. the walls were a very dark teal-ish green with a white swirly pattern.
it was a lovely birthday week full of special things. G gets the best boyfriend award of the century for making it so special for me.
i’ll leave you with another picture of pretty impressive architecture
